NEET Compulsion for MBBS Abroad Good or Bad?

India has only 60,000, seats for MBBS students both in Private and Government medical colleges per 15.9 lakhs applicants this year. Such a low student college ratio has created the demand for MBBS abroad and there is 80% increase in the applications of students for MBBS abroad in 2019.  Last year the number of NEET applicants was 13 lakhs and in 2019 the number rose to 15.9 lakhs due to the mandatory attempt for NEET for Abroad medical education. Students last year were flexible to take Admission in MBBS in Abroad without even appearing in NEET or failed the exam. But this year certain changes have made to pursue MBBS abroad that students must undergo NEET 2019 to get admission in MBBSabroad. Some students consider mandatory attempt of NEET unfair because they also required passing the FMGE or MCI test when return India. They stated too many obligations to pursue their Dream.

Candidate who do not clear NEET be a suitable Candidate as a Doctor?

The statement above is a Myth; there are students in India who focus more on board exams due to high competition and race of merit. They may not be scoring good marks in competitive exams like NEET, AIIMS etc but doesn’t mean they cannot be good future doctors.

Screening tests for Indian and Overseas candidates

Another change going to take place from 2019 in Indian as well as Overseas medical education. This is about the double screening tests for both Indian MBBS college pass outs and for Abroad MBBS pass outs who wish to return back to India.

“ NEET being the common entrance exam for both Indian as well as Abroad medical education, FMGE remains same for Overseas students who wish to return back to India and NEXT will be an exit exam for Indian medical student”.

This screening adds more potential competence to students which is easy to judge and check the bright future Doctors, he said.
