Increase in the Interest of MBBS Abroad

The reports said, despite of the cost factor include in studying MBBS abroad, 81% of the Indian students are showing Interest in medical education abroad. The medical council has issued maximum number of eligibility certificates this year for those who study MBBS abroad.  The number of eligibility certificate started from 3399 in March 2015 has now gone up to 17600 in January-December 2018. The number of students who have registered for NEET 2018 has also risen by 15% this year. One assumed reason for this sudden increase the application for NEET is the mandating the NEET appearance to get admission in medical education abroad.

As according the data, nearly 15 lakhs students are going to take the National Entrance cum Eligibility Test this year (2019). This is a record breaking increase in application from 13.20 lakhs to 15.91 lakhs in 2019. This has clearly stated that the students are interested in a abroad MBBS/BDS programs which has resulted in increase in the number of NEET registrations but the seats for MBBS/BDS programs are the same in India. Students seeks better opportunity in MBBS abroad if not secure seats with low budget and quality education in government  Medical colleges in India.

The sources have also said, despite of looking for very low fees in government colleges ranging from Rs. 250-80,000 in Maulana Azad medical College and Government Medical college of Patiala, Rs. 1000 fees in AIIMS ( all locations) with having known reputation in medical world, students are selecting Australia, Canada, US where they incur a total fee of more than 35-50 lakhs.
