Haryana Man loses Rs 21.5L in MBBS Admission Fraud

A Haryana based businessman hailing from Karnal was duped of a massive sum of Rs 21.5 lakh on the pretext of securing a management seat for his son interested in pursuing a course in medicine. The accused has been identified as Bhupinder Singh, a Delhi-based fraudster and con, who approached the victim Kishan Lal from Karnal and committed himself to an assured seat in a reputed medical college in Bangalore for his ward in lieu of a capitation fee. Kishan Lal convinced by the conman's suave and fluency, allegedly transferred a sum of one and half lakh as processing fees to the bank account of Bhupinder Singh, who introduced himself as the owner of a career consultancy named Vision Enterprises. Singh then assured Mr. Lal that his son would be securing an MBBS seat in a prestigious college in Southern Bangalore. Kishan Lal duly followed up by submitting necessary documents pertaining to his son's admission in the chosen stream.  Singh receivedthe documents from him and after studying and scrutinizing them assured Lal from Karnal that his son was eligible to pursue a career in medicine.

On August 10, Singh got in touch with Lal again and asked him to meet him in Bangalore to confirm admission and follow up with the rest of the remaining capitation fee involved that he claimed would be credited in favour of the management committee. On August 13, Kishan Lal arrived in Bangalore by himself and as instructed, went to a coffee shop on MG Road and waited there for Bhupinder Singh. Soon after Singh arrived and after initial discussions, Kishan Lal handed over the remaining amount of money to the tune of 20 lakh Indian Rupees. Singh gave Lal a receipt document with the letterhead of the concerned institution which later turned out to be fake. Singh has been absconding ever since and is untraceable on his mobile phone.
