A request made against the Upper Age Limit in MBBS

NEW DELHI: On February the 27^th, the High Court of Delhi decided to hear a request made by two MBBS applicants from Kerala against the MCI’s decision to set up an age limit for disabled and the candidates of reserved category. The upper age limit should be 25 and 30 years, they requested. The appeal was mentioned before a bench of Justice C Hari Shankar and Justice Gita Mittal, against the decision of no upper age limit for the applicants for NEET. The appealers are against the decision and requested to set an age limit for the applicants to enrol in the NEET.

The matter of these two students would be heard by Justice Chander Hari Shekhar and Sanjiv Khanna. Suresh T and Jalaludheen T live in Malappuram a city in Kerala, who have completed their medical studies in Bachelor o Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery and Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine, have stated that the age limit was unreasonable. The Supreme Court had canceled to set the upper age limit suggested by the CBSE for the NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) and allowed all the applicants to show up in the examination without any upper age limit, this is what have been contented in the plea. Their appealer alleged that Kerala offers quota for candidates to take admission in medical courses and courses with which a candidate is allowed to work who have certified for nurses, BHMS and BAMS. The course duration of BHMS and BAMS are 5 ½ years. If a candidate wishes to show up in the NEET-UG after completing the course, it becomes impossible for the candidate to do so due to the set upper limit for age.
