Teerthankar Mahaveer Medical College and Research Centre was established to provide quality healthcare education, research and training facilities to medical professionals to deal with the incremental requisite of tackling health issues of the society. The college had received accreditation from Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India and National Medical Commission or NMC, in 2008, to enroll hundred medical students annually. National and international industrial collaborations and student exchange programs are emphasized, to equip students with the needful exposure to work on a global platform with equal plan.

Admission Procedure of the Medical College

The college is renowned for its courses in MBBS, MD and M. Sc. Medical with various specializations. Admission to 5 and a half years’ MBBS course inclusive of one year’s internship period is based on the students’ performances in TMU Entrance Test and previous academic records. Scholarship is provided to meritorious students based on their performance in both past academia and entrance test. You need to have minimum 50 % marks in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and English in higher secondary examination and NEET Qualified to seek admission in the undergraduate medical courses. The minimum age of a student has to be 17 years on December 31 for all courses in under-graduation.

Academic and Practical Training Methods

Mentoring in education and practical training methods are comparable to that of any international standard. Intensive exposure of students in any undergraduate and postgraduate study is emphasized upon. Rigorous practice, under the guidelines of NMC, is conducted through didactic lectures, CPR training, introduction to intensive care medicine and pain, Anaesthesia clinics, performance procedural training in Operation Theatres and Intensive Care Units. Interactive tutorials, case study presentations, brain-storming sessions, problem solving skills training, are all part of the curriculum. Integrated and inter-departmental conferences and seminars are conducted regularly. Research on contemporary medicine is given utmost importance.

Infrastructural Facilities Offered

The college-affiliated hospital is equipped with super-specialized facilities in Central Laboratory for catering to diverse investigations in Pathology, Microbiology and Clinical Biochemistry. Ultrasound and Color Doppler Study machines, CT scan, and Digital X-rays with image intensifier are available in the Radiology department of the hospital. Endoscope, Echocardiograph, TMT, Fluoroscopy, Audiometer, Joint Replacement Surgery and Dialysis machines are well applied in the course study. The college hospital is well endowed with 500 bed tertiary care, 20 beds casualty care and 28 beds intensive care units. Air-conditioned lecture halls, language laboratories, well-equipped libraries, modernized computer labs, Wi-Fi connectivity, seminar halls, auditorium, community centers, sports complex, open air theatres, mess facilities and more services cater to dissemination of world-class educational services.

Faculty and Fees Structure

The faculty consists of distinguished medical practitioners who are regularly involved with various intensive research projects in contemporary medicine in the college laboratories. Most of the professors are renowned specialists in their own fields like General Surgery, Pediatrics, General Medicine, Dermatology, T.B. and Chest, Anatomy, Forensic Medicine, Pharmacology, Anesthesiology etc. The department of medicine provides numerous research papers and journals in various medical publications, nationally and internationally. The annual tuition fee for MBBS is Rs. 16,20,000. One-time Security fee is Rs 1,00,000.
