Narayan Medical College

Narayan Medical College and Hospital is affiliated to Veer Kunwar Singh University in Arrah. The medical college is approved by the National Medical Commission. It is located in Sasaram a town in the Rohtas district of Bihar. The college started functioning in the year 2006, but got affiliation from the NMC in 2011 to imitate the MBBS courses from the academic year 2011-12. As per the approval of the NMC, 100 students are approved to be admitted per year of the MBBS courses. Duration of the courses is of five and half year, with one year internship in the last year of the course.

Details of the Hospital

Attached with the medical college is a 400 bedded hospital that provides high quality medical services to patients in the locality and in the adjoining places. The hospital provides a 24 hours emergency facility and ambulance service to patients. The medical services are supervised round the clock by well-trained medical professionals. There are sophisticated and advanced ICUs for different departments in the hospital. The operation theatres are equipped with facilities like laparoscopy, Feco unit and other facilities. The hospital also provides transportation facility to patients in its catchment area. Diagnostic equipment like x-ray unit, ultrasound and color Doppler, are provided by the hospital.

Requirement for Admission

Students who have qualified the senior secondary examinations can seek admission to the MBBS courses in this college. You need to have minimum 50 % marks in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and English in higher secondary examination and NEET Qualified to seek admission in the undergraduate medical courses. It is also important for students to have English in the 10+2 level. Students have to qualify the entrance examination conducted by the medical college, to enroll to the MBBS course. The annual fee of the college is Rs. 12,00,000.

Separate Accommodation Facilities for Students

There are separate accommodation facilities for boys and girls. There is one hostel each for boys and girls. There is also a separate hostel for interns. The hostels are equipped with modern facility and round the clock water supply and electricity. Besides these, students can also avail medical services and facilities for fitness in the campus. There are sprawling playgrounds and facilities for sports in the campus for students. The library is equipped up dated books and resources which they can avail any time of the day. The laboratories attached to different departments give ample scope to students to delve deep into the subject.
