Mahadevappa Medical College

Mahadevappa Rampure Medical College is named after its founders and architect Sri. Mahedavappa Rampure. It is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and was established in the year in 1963 at Gulbarga in Karnataka. It was the second private college in India that was recognized by the National Medical Commission and also by the British Medical College. Over the years, the infrastructure of the college has been improved to impart high quality medical facility to patients and education to students.

Different Courses Offered

The college provides both graduate and postgraduate degrees in medical sciences to students. You can pursue postgraduate courses in eighteen preclinical and para-clinical subjects. There are also few certificate courses for Laboratory technician, optician, radiographer and refractions. All these courses are recognized by NMC. There are two hospitals attached to the college that are used for clinical teaching activity. The total bed strength is over 700. Different departments are equipped with advanced equipment, and staff are trained to handle different patients at times of emergency.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission

For enrolling to the MBBS course, You need to have minimum 50 % marks in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and English in higher secondary examination and NEET Qualified to seek admission in the undergraduate medical courses. It is mandatory for students to have English as one of the compulsory subjects. Candidates need to complete 17 years of age within 31st December if the same year of admission. Selection of aspirants is based on their merit, and it is done on the basis of the candidates scores in COMED-K and CET. There are 150 seats in MBBS and duration of the course is of five and half years. If you want to enroll to MD or MS, you need to have a MBBS degree from a NMC recognized college or university.

Annual Fee Structure

Overall fee for an academic year amounts to Rs. 7,00,000. It includes the fees for education and also for other miscellaneous charges. The college has well-equipped libraries separately for undergraduate courses and a separate one for pot graduate courses. These libraries have in store different national and international medical journals, EBooks, audio-video aids, computers with internet connection and photo copy machine.

Other Facilities for Students

There are separate hostels for accommodating boys and girls. Students also have the scope to take part in different recreational activities. A fully operational department is there that has provision of both indoor and outdoor games. Canteens are attached to these hostels, and free internet facility is provided to students. Since the college has its own fleet of bus, students do not have any problem of transportation.
