JJM Medical College

JJM Medical College is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Health Sciences. It is located in Davangere, in Karnataka. It was established in 1965 and is managed by a trust. MBBS, MD, MS are offered by this college. Duration of MBBS is of five and years. The last one year of this course, is solely dedicated to internship. For MBBS, there are a total of 245 seats. An academic year is divided into two semesters. Curriculum of these courses is approved by the National Medical Commission. Apart from these diploma courses are also offered to students.

Four hospitals with 2900 bed are attached to this college. These hospitals are furnished with advanced equipment and cater the need of the population in their vicinity. Students have to qualify a series of examination as a part of the curriculum. The college has stringent rules regarding score required for passing, attendance and internal assessments. Admission Procedure

If you want to seek admission to this college, you need to complete 17 years of age within 31st December of the year of joining the course. It is compulsory for students to qualify the senior secondary examination or its equivalent from a recognized board. You need to have minimum 50 % marks in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and English in higher secondary examination and NEET Qualified to seek admission in the undergraduate medical courses. For NRI students, it is mandatory to submit a copy of their passport. Those seeking admission to MD or MS course have to complete MBBS from a college or university recognized and approved by NMC. For postgraduate course, it is a compulsion, to complete one year of internship in a hospital.

Fees and Infrastructure

The annual fee comprises of college fees and other miscellaneous charges. It amounts to about Rs. 5,50,000 per year. There are a number of lecture halls with audio visual aids. There area total of 5 hostels, to accommodate students. There are two hostels for boys and three for girls. These hostels provide basic facilities like food to students.

Facility of Library

The college has a huge library that can accommodate about 1500 readers in one time. There are separate sections for undergraduate, postgraduate and faculties. Another latest addition to the existing library is the digital one, which has internet facility and has different terminal for students. The library also has provision of multimedia projection, slide shows, overhead projectors and other audio visual aids.
