Kazan Federal University

The Kazan Federal University is located in the Volga region of Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. It was established in the year 1804, as the Kazan Imperial University, and is the second oldest university in all of Russia. The university was renamed in the year 1925, as an honour to its most revered student, Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov, known to the world as Lenin.

The university is also considered as the birth ground of the discipline of organic chemistry due to the brilliant works of the likes of Aleksandr Butlerov, Aleksandr Arbuzov, and Vladimir Markovnikov. The university also witnessed the discovery of the electron spin resonance by Evgeny Zavaoisky. The university attained Federal status in the year of 2010. The university was honoured as one of the 15 universities that participated in the Russian Academic Excellence Project, organised by the Russian government.

The university’s medical faculty is known as the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology. It is one of the most developed faculties of the university with over 50 subdivisions. It has the following amenities and features:
