The MBBS course curriculum for all affiliated colleges has been recently revisited with an intention to make amends after close totwenty years without any updates to make necessary inclusions. The Medical Council of India, the ruling body overseeing the functioning and accreditation of all medical colleges in India has recently made the announcement to make amends in its bachelor degree program for students pursuing medicine. The final changes to the existing syllabus and other curriculum matter will be published once the management board of the MCI has a final meeting in New Delhi to finalize and approve the updates.
Although private and unaided medical colleges have been revising their course material and curriculum with changing times, this initiative from MCI ensures that the changes in the MBBS syllabus is consistent and uniform across all institutions. With the evolution of ailments and anomalies that affect normalcy in human lives, it is a very welcome move that is finding appreciation from all quarters. If sources are to be believed a batch of senior teachers has already been initiated in the training procedures for being acquainted with the changes introduced and the new syllabus.
